Obituary of Steven Economides
Steve Economides, raised in Bronx, NY, and a longtime resident of Mahopac, NY passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 21st 2021 at the age of 62.
He was the Beloved Son of Kathryn and the late Thomas Economides, and is also survived by his Sister Olga (Leon) Horman, his Wife of 40 years Maria, his children Kristen (Michael) Murphy, Tommy (Nicole) Economides, his cherished Grandson Anthony Joseph Murphy, his Goddaughters Nicole Kourakos and Christina Panaou, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.
Steve was a member of Local 79 for 30 years before retiring. In 2010, he became a Site Safety Manager and enjoyed his time back on the job.
Steve was an easy going guy who enjoyed good conversation, a good cigar and a good cup of coffee. He will forever be missed by his family and friends who will always remember him for his humor and jokes (especially the one about the Murphy twins), the way he lit up an entire room, and how he would always tell you a story and insist you never heard it, but you really did and would always get a different version of it each time. His 5 minute stories would take 20 minutes to tell. W
