My memories of Steven go back to our childhood as well as August of this year when I was lucky enough to spend with him and his loving wife Marie. I think when I think of him I think of a leader. He had a magnetic personality that he used for good. As a child and adolescent he had a good family and he wanted for nothing but he developed an excellent moral compass and this included the sense of the importance of the dignity of work. He was generous with the commodities that money cannot buy namely he gave you his time and caring and this was a treat that he spread to the children he loved and we all did benefit. Steve and his wife were generous hosts through decades. They were married almost 40 years. I was very lucky to be best man . He had tremendous speed, physical strength, musical ability and he was artistic. He was a terrific husband and father but also a godfather, a son, a brother, my first cousin and friend, a grandfather, uncle, and nephew. He could talk about politics but he did not play politics. He had many roles during his life but one of the ones he was most proud about was his years in the construction trade which included activity in New York before and after 9/11. He called me for my birthday only earlier this month. He was the type of person that really cared about people and he showed it in his thoughts and his deeds. Until then, I have the memories, the life lessons he shared, the laughs, and yes of course pictures of us and family. May his memory be eternal.

Dennis, you and I were so fortunate to grow up with our cousins. All of us together,...Steven, Olga, you, me, Peter and Spero. We were more like siblings. Our love for one another is endless. We have lost one of our precious six, but he will remain in our hearts forever.

Steven had his own remarkable way of walking through life. Years ago, before cellphones, when he was courting his soon to be wife Maria, he’d ride the city bus to her home.. Once he was near, and thankfully off the bus ,he’d blow off an m80 firework so she knew he was just minutes away. He was and always will be unique to me.
My beloved cousin , Steve. May you Rest In Peace knowing you will be forever loved..We will all cherish our beautiful memories of you. The multitude of stories that you told and great family times that we all shared will never be forgotten.
