Funeral Music Selections
In addition to the ordinary parts of the funeral service, and the responses sung by the cantor, it is customary to have communal singing of four hymns - a gathering hymn, a hymn of preparation, a Communion hymn, and a recessional hymn. There are many hymns to choose from in the parish hymnal.
The following lists contains appropriate hymns for the funeral Liturgy.
The church may choose the music for you, or you may choose one hymn from each group.
Gathering Hymn:
