Obituary of Raymond M. Tanguay

Raymond M. Tanguay, Sr., born on April 23rd, 1928 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, entered into Eternal Rest on February 20th, 2019. He is survived by his five loving children: Raymond, Jr., Richard, Anthony, Kevin, and Loretta (Robert) DeJesus; devoted sister Suzanne; grandchildren: Lia, Isaiah, and Madelyn DeJesus; niece and Goddaughter Jeannette (Rex) Schlicher, and nephew Leon Case. He was predeceased by his former spouse, Virginia Ward; sister Madeleine and brother-in-law Francis G. Case; and his parents Albert and Jean (nee Gagnon). Raymond proudly served our country as Private First Class in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was Honorably Discharged in 1961. After a long and distinguished career at Fuji Bank, he retired in 1994. He was a longtime and active parishioner of the Church of the Good Shepherd, New York, NY. Services will be held at Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway, at the corner of 214th Street (Inwood) NYC on Sunday, February 24th and Monday, February 25th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Tuesday, February 26th at 10 AM; interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, New York. In lieu of flowers, financial donations made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Raymond M. Tanguay, Sr. would be greatly appreciated.
