Obituary of Stella Mavricakis Miaoulis

Stella Mavricakis Miaoulis was born May 20, 1923 and passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in Lewes, Delaware. Stella was born in New York City, the daughter and first child of Nicoletta and John Mavricakis. Stella was predeceased by her husband, George M. Miaoulis who she was married to for 39 years. She is survived by her brother, E. John Merrick of Daytona, Florida, three children, Dr. George Miaoulis Jr. of Camden, Maine, Paula Hoffman of Oakland, New Jersey, Joanne Frazier of Lewes Delaware, and six grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Stella resided in Oakland, New Jersey for 40 years before moving to Riverdale, NJ where she resided for 14 years. She retired from Eastman Kodak in Fairlawn NJ In 1985. She loved to travel and saw much of the world after her retirement. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She was a avid reader and was noted in her family as a baker of the most wonderful Greek Easter butter cookies that would melt in your mouth. Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday, Dec. 19 at Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff from 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral services will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wyckoff, NJ on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 am followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Queens, New York.
