John J McVeigh son of the late Bernard McVeigh Sr and Hannah (Nee Teahan) McVeigh. He’s 2 brothers Bernard McVeigh formerly of Wallkill NY and Michael McVeigh of Scottsdale Az, have predeceased him as well as a niece Maureen McVeigh Carey formerly of Levittown NY, a nephew Kevin McVeigh formerly of Scottsdale Az. Born August 11 1942 in New York City. John served in the United States Army . He served the city as an officer of the NYPD for 15 years working in the 80th and 44th Pct.He leaves behind a sisters-in-law Joann McVeigh of Scottsdale Arizona, a nephew Michael McVeigh (spouse Cassandra)of Scottsdale Am, and a niece who resides in Yonkers, Eileen McVeigh McAleer (spouse John) and a great nephew Brendan Carey of Yonkers Reposing at Riverdale Funeral Home, Inc 5044 Broadway, NY on Sunday 2-4pm. Funeral service to be held at Good Shepherd Church, 4967 Broadway, NY on Monday 11am. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, NY.
