May her memory be eternal!Helen Dallas Moskovites February 26, 1924 - October 20, 2015 It is with a heavy heart and huge loss and void to all that knew her that, Helen Moskovites, nee Dallas, departed this life after a valiant fight against multiple illnesses, went home to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, On October 20, 2015. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving and dedicated family and her irreplaceable aide. Helen was born in Peabody, Massachusetts on February 26, 1924. She was the first born daughter to the late Stavroula (Katsoulakos) Dallas and the late James Dallas. She had two beautiful sisters and a sweet brother in law who preceded her in death. The late Stella Dallas, the late Anastasia Chetsas, and Dom Chetsas. On November 19, 1939, Helen married, the late John Moskovites. She operated a Grocery store, Deli, on the corner of Walnut and Tracey Street in Peabody, Massachusetts. At this time Helen was a member of the St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody. Helen was blessed with three boys who turned out to be great men. She leaves behind her son Peter Moskovites (Carolyn) of West Charleston, Vermont. Her son, the late Fr. James G. Moskovites, and a devoted and dedicated daughter in law Diana Moskovites, who attended to her in every way possible, no matter what. A granddaughter, Presvytera Helen Moskovites-Kehagias (Fr. Demetrios Kehagias),of Brooklyn, New York, who stood along her Yiayia's side until the end of her earthly life. Helen's two eldest Great Grandchildren Jerry-James Kehagias and Peter-Nicholas Kehagias who devotedly and sweetly called her the "Cookie Yiayia" because there was always homemade cookies at Yiayia's house. Great Yiayia Eleni adored them and they adored her. Pastor Nicholas Moskovites (Pamela) of Fort Myers, Florida. Three wonderful granddaughters and a handsome grandson. Eleni Pecjak (Frank), of Fairfax,Virginia. Four prescious great grandchildren Ariana, Zachary, Nichole, and Melina. Alyssa Grace of Wilmington, North Carolina, along with two amazing, full of life, great grandchildren Ahmara Grace, and Xander Grace. Sophia Olson (Stephen) of Raleigh, North Carolina, along with two adorable great grandsons, Alex Olson and Ryan Olson. Niko Moskovites, of Fort Myers, Florida, a handsome young man who God blessed our family with. Helen also leaves behind her only and very loving and devoted niece Stephanie Chetsas Stoddard, who she lovingly called Auntie Helen. Along with her husband Bill Stoddard, as well as their children Daniel and Emily Stoddard. Helen, leaves behind her beloved Symbetheri Presvytera Despina Kehagias and family of Stony Brook, New York. Notwithstanding the countless cousins, nephews, nieces, and beloved friends. There is no greater gift than to be given the opportunity to be a part of a beautiful ministry. On April 10, 1973, Helen Moskovites moved to Oklahoma City and was part of the late Fr. James' and Presvytera Diana's Ministry. Getting involved over the years throughout all of their travels from baking on the kitchen during the Greek Festivals, to hosting Bible studies at the home, involvement in Philopthochos, to making Fasolada when the Lenten Lecture Series started at Annunciatoon Greek Orthodox Church, New York City began. Helen loved to Crochet, Knit, and Needlepoint. She made the best homemade pizza ever! Everyone called her the "Hostess with the Mostest" We always called her the energizer bunny because there was no stopping her boundless energy for life. No matter what, always moving forward with strength, faith, and humor. We will miss your laughter, your wit, wisdom and sense of style, but what we will miss more than ever is your beautiful smile.. May her Memory be Eternal forever amongst the Saints and Our Lord's Kingdom Until we see you Again! The Funeral will be on Monday October 26, 2015 St. Demetrios Day Location: St. Eleftherios Greek Orthodox Church 359 West 24th (24th Street & 9th Avenue) New York City, New York 10010 Othros 9am Divine Liturgy 10am Wake at 11 am Funeral Service at 12 Noon Following Funeral Internment to be at: Oakland Cemetery 2 Saw Mill Road Yonkers, New York 10701 Helen Moskovites will be laid to rest next to her son the late Father James G.
