Bakalis, Athena (Nee Stamatiou born in 1907 in Cincinnati, Ohio) passed away on December 26, 2013 in Vero Beach, Florida. Beloved wife of the late Panagiotis.
She resided in New York City and Athens, Greece. Beloved mother of Ourania Soumas, Rita Mergemekes, Diana Davis and the late Daphne Sturges.
She was the strong, dynamic and distinguished family matriarch who will be greatly missed by her children, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Reposing at St. John The Theologian Greek Orthodox Church 353 Clinton Road Tenafly, New Jersey on Monday December 30th from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM. Religous Services will start at 11:30 AM. Burial To follow at Brookside Cemetery in Englewood , New Jersey.
