Obituary of Peter G. Perentesis

Peter G. Perentesis, 87, of Palm Harbor, Florida, died Thursday December 20, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband to Paula (Pappas) Perentesis for 66 joyful years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his faithful son George Perentesis of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, and adoring daughter Valerie and her husband Nikos Kolivodiakos of Madison, CT. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Jeffrey Peter Kolivodiakos and Jennifer and her spouse Anthony Burrows. He is also survived by a great granddaughter Georgia Burrows. He was born in Paliopanagia, Sparta, Greece on March 14, 1931. He was the son of the late George and Panayiota (Diamandakos) Perentesis. He and his sister immigrated to America in 1948, settling in Mount Vernon, NY. Pete owned the Parkside Diner in partnership with his brother-in-law in Yonkers, NY until his retirement when he moved to Florida. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, to Greece as well as other European countries. He was a member of AHEPA and a faithful member of Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church of Yonkers, NY. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 24, 2018 at 11:30am at the Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 15 Leroy Ave, Yonkers, NY 10705. The church will be open for a short visitation at 11:00am until the start of the funeral. Interment to follow the funeral services at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers, remembrance may be made to either Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church or to the American Heart Association, in loving memory of Peter Perentesis.
