Obituary of Carol Stringer

Carol Stringer of Ft. Washington entered into rest suddenly and unexpected on Wednesday February 15 while vacationing in Newport Rhode Island. She was 75 years old. Ms. Stringer was born on April 3, 1936 in the Bronx to Stephen and Emma (nee Reus) Ketterer where she was raised and attended local schools. Carol graduated from the State University at Plattsburg with her BA in education and went on to become an Early Education teacher in the Miller Place Schools in Long Island. She and her husband George were married on August 19, 1961 in Rye New York. In recent years Mrs. Stringer has taught piano to the neighborhood children and is known in her community as Mrs. Stringer the piano teacher. Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, George, her loving children John Stringer and his wife Erica Rios, Mark Stringer and his wife Vicky Zachelmeyer, Donna and Alex Lyudmer, Kristin and Michael Faivre; her cherished grandchildren Carol, Allison, Peter, Brian, Scott, Natalie, Meredith and Evelyn. Her beloved sister and brother Doris Von Glahn and Stephen Ketterer. Her family will be present to receive friends on Monday February 20 here at the Riverdale Funeral Home from 1-4 and 7-9 PM. Her funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday February 21, at 11:00AM at the Ft. Washington Collegiate Church. Carol’s family is forever grateful for the professionalism, sympathy and care that was extended to George by Officer Gregory Belcher and Seargent Corey Huck on the day of Carols death.
