Obituary of William George Tracosas

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William George Tracosas May 1, 1957–November 4, 2016 William “Billy” Tracosas died November 4, 2016, at his home in Whiting, New Jersey, of natural causes. He was 59 years old. Billy was born in Westchester County, New York, on May 1, 1957, to Hariclea “Ricky” and Ernie Tracosas—wonderful, loving parents whom he revered and personally cared for until their deaths in 2008 and 2007. Billy was a standout athlete at Ardsley High School. He skied, played varsity football, and was a charter member and pioneer of the school’s first lacrosse team. After high school, he attended Drake University in Iowa. Billy worked in two demanding, competitive industries: the commercial film business, where he was a key grip on movies and many television commercials, and the restaurant industry where he managed several well-known restaurants and, later, worked as a chef. Billy was dearly loved by his many high school and business friends and by his large and loving Greek family. He was known for his ready laugh, gregarious nature, and deep and abiding love for his family—especially for his mother and father. He was also devoted to his dog and best buddy, Tasso. Billy is survived by his two brothers Harry Tracosas of Madison, Wisconsin, and Jon Tracosas of Fairfield, Connecticut. He will be remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends, including: his sister-in-law, Beth Tracosas; nieces Leah Jenness, Willa Hughes, and Rachel Tracosas; his nephew Alex Tracosas and grand-nephew Miles Jenness; his uncle and thea, George and Rosemary, and the Lois family—Luke, Diane, George, and Alex; by his cousin Stemmie and the Adinolfi family—Richard, Adam, and Luke; by aunts Viola Kotiadis, Cathy Lowis, and uncle George Lowis; the Kotiadis cousins Marea and Billy; and the Mortsakis cousins, Spiro and John. We love you Billy, “too, too much.” Travel well.
