Obituary of Elias Tzaneteas

Elias Tzaneteas passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday October 21, 2020 at the age of 87. Elias was born on November 27, 1932 in Greece. After coming to the United States, he opened up a diner and later a delicatessen that he and his family operated for close to 40 years. He was affectionately known as "Louie" to those that knew him at the deli. Elias is survived by his loving wife Voula of 52 years, daughter Demetra, son Nicholas, son in law John, daughter in law Vanessa and his loving grandchildren, John, Sophia Alexia and Elias. A visitation for Elias is planned for Friday October 23, 2020, from 10am to 12pm. The visitation will be at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 15 Leroy Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10705. All are invited to attend. The funeral will follow immediately at 12 pm. People wishing to honor Elias' lifelong commitment to family and community in lieu of flowers can make donations to Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Yonkers or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
