Obituary of Mary Ellen Lyons

Mary Ellen was born May 23, 1931 and born again into Eternal Life on July 2, 2012. She was the Beloved Daughter of the late Patrick and Helen (nee Dolan) Shields. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Michael Francis (Mickey) and her Daughter Catherine. She is survived by Her Children Michael, and his wife Mary; Thomas and his wife Laurie; and Teresa and her companion Arturo. She is also survived by her loving Grandchildren Michael, Dylan, Chelsea, Madison and Dakota. Mary Ellen was a life long resident of Manhattan, and attended Annunciation Grammar School and Cathedral High School. She retired in 1996 from Bronx Community College where she worked in the Office of the Dean. She loved summering in Rockaway, and being very involved in St. Jude’s R.C. Church in Inwood. A wake will be held on Saturday, July 7th at THE RIVERDALE FUNERAL HOME, 5044 Broadway, corner of 214th Street in the Inwood section of Manhattan from 3-7PM only. Burial will be private.
