Obituary of Connie Papoulas

Connie of Palm Harbor, Florida and formerly of New York City graduated from George Washington HS in NYC. She graduated from CCNY in 1964. Her first teaching job was at P.S. 173 in Manhattan in September of 1964. She also added two Masters Degrees to her resume. She taught in Germany on a U.S. Army base for two years (1974 and 1975). She loved to travel and loved animals (especially birds). She was very active in her Church and was former President of the St. Spyridon Philoptocos. Upon retiring she volunteered at the NY Botanical Gardens. She divided her time between her New York and Florida residences. enjoying friends, playing Scrabble, reading and watching Turner Classic movies. She was predeceased by her father, George Papoulas; her mother, Bessie Demetriades Papoulas, and her sister Helen Papoulas. She and her generous and playful spirit will be greatly missed by many loving cousins and friends including Ann and Lee Bartol, Jennifer and David Yuhas and Julie and Alan Gipe.
