Demitra Olga Gikas entered into rest on Saturday April 30, 2016 at the Calvary Hospital in the Bronx with her family at her side. Devoted mother of Michael and his wife Jennifer Gikas, and Olga Gikas. Cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn, Emily and Laura. Loving sister of Alexandra & George Janow, sister in law of John & Maria Gikas, she ia also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will be present to receive friends here at the RIVERDALE FUNERAL HOME, 5044 Broadway @ the corner of 214th Street in NYC. on Tuesday May 3, 2016 from 5-8 PM. Her funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday May 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM; at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 15 Leroy Place, Yonkers, NY Her interment will follow in the family plot at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
