Obituary of Sandra Elaine Kourakos

Sandra Elaine Kourakos of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, died tragically on June 7, 2013 in a car accident while on a road trip through Alberta, Canada en route to Alaska. Sandy was traveling with her long time companion and true love, Al Jones, who fortunately survived with only minor injuries. Sandy was born on October 29, 1952 in the Bronx. She was a registered nurse who after becoming disabled after a work related incident with a patient got her masters in psychotherapy. She was an avid painter, loved the beach, traveling, and margaritas. She was the loving mother of Nicole and Joseph & his wife Angela. Adored by her grandchildren Madison and Katelyn. Dear daughter of late parents Robert and Grace Bell. Loved by her sister Renetta Lowenstein and husband Melvin. Beloved aunt of Lorie Volper and Jarrett Lowenstein. Sandy was an amazing person who would do anything for anyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Services will be held on June 17, 2013, viewing will be from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway, NY, NY 10034. Immediately following she will be brought to Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
