Richard "Richie" Cappola of Riverdale, age 75, passed away on Monday March 18th, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Colleen; adored son, Sean; late son, Eddie Alvarez; siblings Georgann Iannotti and Joseph Cappola; nieces & a nephew and cherished cousins. He is predeceased by his benevolent parents Florence (Castiglia) and George Cappola.
Richie dedicated 33 years of service to the Department of Environmental Protection. In retirement, he volunteered his time, coached little league and was an avid sports fan. Recently, Richie was full of smiles celebrating his 75th birthday surrounded by his devoted family.
Visitation will be held at the Riverdale Funeral Home 5044 Broadway at 214th Street, NY, NY 10034 on Sunday, March 24th, 2019 from 4-8pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place Monday, March 25, 2019 at 10:45am at St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church 409 East 241st Street, Bronx, NY 10470.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne NY.
