Obituary of Humberto Juan Lopez

Please share a memory of Humberto to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Humberto Lopez, who, at the age of 84, left us on December 14, 2024. Humberto was a cherished member of the Washington Heights community, affectionately known as 'the Mayor of Washington Heights' or 'Frank Sinatra' among family and friends. He spent much of his time enjoying a coffee at McDonald's before joining his neighborhood friends for a game of dominoes. Humberto was known for his infectious smile, distinctive walk, and memorable voice.

Born on April 11, 1940, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Humberto was the youngest of seven children. He is survived by his sister; Grace, loving wife; Milka, son; Pablo, and three grandchildren; Pablo Jr, Eric, and Sophia. He is now reunited in Heaven with his first wife, Mary; his daughter, Blanca; his beloved dog, Toby; and his siblings who have passed. Humberto will be remembered fondly and missed dearly, forever.
