Obituary of Federico Salce

Dear Family and Friends,

As most of you now know, our beloved husband, father, grandfather…Federico Salce, peacefully passed away surrounded by his wife, son, and daughters on Monday, June 10th at 2 pm. Our hearts are filled with peace knowing that he is no longer suffering, joy; knowing that he is in heaven surrounded by other loved ones; and sadness because it will be a little while until we can see him again.

He suffered the past three years with kidney disease but thanks to God, he lived life “his way” until his last breath…drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes, and enjoying the outdoors.  A sort of cranky guy who had more friends and acquaintances than anyone could imagine.

We are thankful for all the love and support you have given us through his illness, and today in his absence, we are beyond grateful for the way you loved him when he was here on earth. We thank God for not allowing him to suffer long as he departed, and for the grace and kindness with which He orchestrated his end in the world.

Queridos familiares y amigos,

Como la mayoría de ustedes ya saben, nuestro amado esposo, padre, abuelo… Federico Salce, falleció pacíficamente rodeado de su esposa, hijo e hijas el lunes 10 de junio a las 2 pm. Nuestros corazones se llenan de paz al saber que ya no sufre; de alegría al saber que está en el cielo rodeado de otros seres queridos; y tristeza porque falta un poco de tiempo para volver a verlo.

Sufrió los últimos tres años con una enfermedad renal, pero gracias a Dios vivió la vida “a su manera” hasta su último aliento… tomando café, fumando cigarrillos y disfrutando del aire libre.  Una especie de tipo cascarrabias que tenía más amigos y conocidos de los que nadie podía imaginar.

Estamos agradecidos por todo el amor y apoyo que nos han brindado durante su enfermedad, y hoy, en su ausencia, estamos más que agradecidos por la forma en que lo amaron cuando estuvo aquí en la tierra. Damos gracias a Dios por no permitirle sufrir mientras partió, y por la gracia y bondad con la que orquestó su fin en el mundo.

Que sus corazones se llenen de paz, gracias.
