Anaruth Cosme was the 4th born child of Carmen M. Malavé & Fernando Cosme Sr. in San Juan Puerto Rico on January 8, 1948. Ann had a total of 9 siblings: Fernando Jr., Carmen, Ramona, Norberto, Nydia, Minerva, Miguel, Aida & Nereida. She loved & admired her large family tree from her past generations & desired to someday have as many children as her mother & grandmother Angela. Ann was blessed to have 6 children of her own: Carmen (1964), Luz (1965), Cindy (1966) Anne (1968), German (1971) & Michael (1978). In 1964, she moved out of her Native Island of P.R to Brooklyn NY attended classes for Nurses Aide. Moved to Spanish Harlem in 1968 & worked for Metropolitan Hospital. She then became a gypsy (1973) she move to the Bronx 1978 moved back to Brooklyn & 1yr later returned to the Bronx 1979 as to where she settled as a single mother & raised her 6 children moving around in the Bronx into different communities. Ann obtained a tanned bronzed skin, long black hair with 2 braids & was well known as INDIA. 1984 she moved back to Brooklyn adopted her 3rd born grandson Carlos (Charlie). Fell in love & married Mortimer Casino Sr . (7-12-00) as she worked for Personal Touch Care job as a home health aide & being a grandmother to 9 all who called her NANA. Due to a few other living grandmothers being called Nana in 1991 her name was changed by her 4th born to MIMA of which spells MAMI backwards. Since then, everywhere Anaruth visited her children’s & grandchildren’s “Friends & Neighbors” adopted to calling Ann “MIMA”. Anaruth’s dream became a reality she had a total of 15 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren. Ann was a very forgiving, loving, & caring she’d had a green thumb yard for growing produce to give to the community also collected food from pantry’s to contribute to those who accepted her offerings alongside with, good useful clothing & other items. She played organ & guitar, loved music dancing salsa, house plants, flowers, crocheting, sewing, arts & crafts, collected angel figurines, loved butterflies & a church going woman of GOD. Her deepest passion was peace, love & blessings to ALL who met MIMA. Anaruth Cosme will forever be loved & remembered by those whom she filled with fondest memories by her Family, Friends, Neighbors & Others who’ve she met momentarily through her journey of life.
