Obituary of Miguelina Estepan

Miguelina Estepan was born in Paraíso, Barahona, Dominican Republic on June 8, 1938 to Victoria Frances and Jorge Estepan. She immigrated to New York City in 1965. She is survived by her daughters Victoria Soto and Virginia Soto-Lozano and her grandchildren, Christopher A. Thomas, Julian A. Lozano, Mikaela Ramirez, Lina B. Lozano and Matthew C. Lozano. She struggled most of her life battling Bipolar and at the end of her life with Alzheimer’s disease. Despite this, she raised her daughters as a single parent and was the best mother in the world. All who knew her speak of her selflessness, humbleness, good sense of humor, strength, and courage. These are all traits we are proud to have and pass on to our children and future generations. She leaves a void that  nothing can replace but she will live eternally in the hearts of her daughters and grandchildren. We love you Mami, Mamá Miguelina.

Miguelina Estepan nació en Paraíso, Barahona en la República Dominicana el 8 de junio del 1938, hija de la señora Victoria Frances y el señor Jorge Estepan. Inmigro a la ciudad de Nueva York en el 1965. Les sobrevive sus hijas Victoria Soto y Virginia Soto-Lozano y sus nietos/ nietas Christopher A. Thomas, Julian A. Lozano, Mikaela Ramirez, Lina B. Lozano y Matthew C. Lozano. Ella lucho gran parte de su vida del trastorno Bipolar y al final de su vida de la enfermedad de Alzheimer. A pesar de estás enfermedades, ella crío sus hijas sola y fue la mejor madre del mundo. Todos que la conocieron la describen como una mujer generosa, humilde, con gran sentido del humor, fuerte, y valiente. Todos estos atributos nos hace orgullosas de haber aprendido de ella y pasar a enseñárselos a sus nietos/nietas para que ellos se los enseñe a la futura generaciones. Ella a dejado un vacío inmenso que nada podrá llenarlo. Ella vivirá eternamente en los corazones de nosotras sus hijas y nietos/ nietas. Te amamos para siempre Mami, Mamá Miguelina
