Obituary of Maria McEntee
Maria McEntee (nee Kamiche): age 56, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer,
Maria, or Toñi as she was affectionately called, was born January 17, 1968 in Lima, Peru. She was the oldest of Hugo and Alicia's three children. As a young girl, Toñi was kind and nurturing to her sister Alicia and brother Miguel. The 3 siblings lived a happy childhood. They played, danced, traveled, and laughed a lot. Growing up, Toñi was devoted to her studies in English, and loved American music and culture.Toñi came to the United States to study business administration and English. Toñi then met Robert McEntee who became the love of her life. They married in 2005 on a beautiful yacht in New York Harbor, surrounded by family and friends as they set sail on their future together. Toñi and Bobby resided in Riverdale, New York. in 2006, they welcomed the light of their lives, their daughter Alexandra. Toñi was a nurturing mother who deeplv loved and cared for Alex. Together they would travel together to Peru and Spain spending time together loving and laughing with her family.
Throughout her life,Toñi loved to spend time boating and enjoying outdoor activities. Toñi fought hard in her battle with her illness. She leaves behind a large void for all that knew and loved her. She will always be in our hearts.
She is survived by her husband Robert, daughter Alexandra, sister Alicia Kamiche and brother-in-law Francisco Leon, niece Alicia Leon, and brother Miguel Kamiche. Brothers-in-law Raymond and Richard McEntee, niece Tricia McEntee, and nephew Michael McEntee. As well as many cherished cousins, friends and relatives. Her family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday April 23, 2024 from 4-8 PM here at the RIVERDALE FUNERAL HOME 5044 BROADWAY, NY. NY @ the corner of 214th Street. Marias funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 24, 2024 at Good Shepherd RC Church, corner of Broadway and Isham street NYC. The interment will follow in the family plot in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla NY.
