Obituary of Jose P Garcia

Jose Garcia, 67, suddenly passed away on Jan 21, 2024 from an unexpected health complication. Jose was born on Oct 11, 1956 to Priamo Garcia and Maria Altagracia Gonzalez in his beloved country, the Dominican Republic. Jose went on to create a beautiful life alongside Maira Casilla, which included 4 amazing children: Yonathan Casilla, Enller Garcia, Natalie Garcia, and Joseph Garcia. He will be cherished and missed by all of them and his 6 grandchildren. Memories of Jose are filled with laughter, love, and happiness. His immense strength and work ethic will live on in the lessons he taught his children and in the grit they inherited, while his legacy lives on in his grandchildren. Jose is beloved by his family, his siblings, and the community, as a whole, and he will be incredibly missed. But, his fighting spirit lives within us all. 

Services will be held at Riverdale Funeral Home Inc. (5044 Broadway, New York, NY, 10034), on Wednesday January 24, 2024 from 3-9pm. Mass services will be held at Ascension Roman Catholic Church (221 W. 107th St, New York, NY 10025) on Saturday January 27, 2024 at 9:30am. We welcome all who are able to join us. 

José García, de 67 años, falleció repentinamente el 21 de enero de 2024 por una complicación de salud inesperada. José nació el 11 de Octubre de 1956 de Príamo García y María Altagracia González en su amado país, la República Dominicana. José pasó a crear una vida hermosa junto a Maira Casilla, que incluía a 4 niños increíbles: Yonathan Casilla, Enller García, Natalie García y Joseph García. Todos ellos y sus 6 nietos lo apreciarán y extrañarán. Los recuerdos de José están llenos de risas, amor y felicidad. Su inmensa fuerza y ética de trabajo perdurarán en las lecciones que enseñó a sus hijos y en la determinación que heredaron, mientras que su legado perdura en sus nietos. José es amado por su familia, sus hermanos y la comunidad en general, y lo extrañaremos muchísimo. Pero su espíritu de lucha vive dentro de todos nosotros.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo en Riverdale Funeral Home Inc. (5044 Broadway, Nueva York, NY, 10034), el miércoles 24 de enero de 2024 de 3 a 9 p.m. Los servicios masivos se llevarán a cabo en la Iglesia Católica Romana Ascension (221 W. 107th St, Nueva York, NY 10025) el sábado 27 de enero de 2024 a las 9:30 a. m.
