Obituary of Lorraine Papavasilakis

Lorraine Papavasilakis passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, after a short and challenging battle with Cancer.

A kind and gentle spirit, Lorraine was not only a devoted mother and grandmother but also a beloved presence to all who knew her. Her love for family was unwavering, and she found immense joy in cooking and hosting, delighting in the happiness of those around her. Lorraine's home was a place where all were embraced as part of her extended family. Known for her selfless generosity, she never sought anything in return.

Lorraine leaves behind a legacy of love survived by her daughter, Christina Papavasilakis, her son James (Jalile) Papavasilakis, and her granddaughter Emilia Papavasilakis, who brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by her brothers, Arthur Guerriero and Joseph (Jennifer) Guerriero, nephews Garan Guerriero and Hunter Guerriero, and nieces Alexia Papavasilakis and Nicoleta Papavasilakis.

Visitation to celebrate Lorraine's life will take place at Yorktown Funeral Home, 945 E. Main Street, Shrub Oak, NY on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A Funeral Service will be held at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 15 Leroy Avenue, Yonkers, NY on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY on the same day. May the abundant joy and love that Lorraine shared with others be returned to her in eternal peace.
