New York - Eddy Manuel Bello Bera, 67, passed on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

Eddy Manuel was born on Saturday, January 14, 1956 in Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, Dominican Republic to two loving parents, Clara Bera Nácer and Manuel Aliro Bello Matos. He was declared as having been born on February 14, 1956. He was raised in Las Matas de Farfán, in the province of San Juan de la Maguana and later moved to the capital.

His siblings include Manuel Aliro Bello Abreu (deceased), Hector Bello Bera, Angela Bello Benzo, Alina Bello Dótel, Licelott Bello Dótel, Vanahí Bello Dótel, Fanny Bello Dótel and Maberliz Bello Dótel.

He studied photogrammetry at the Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi in Bogotá, Colombia and worked in this field, creating photogrammetric surveys from the taking of aerial photos to the final maps of many construction projects in the Dominican Republic for over six years.

Eddy met Irma Altagracia Vásquez Germán through Rosanna Arbaje, Eddy’s cousin, and were married on Friday, July 23, 1982 in Santo Domingo. He moved to the United States in 1984 with Irma and his first-born, Clara where he lived with his family in Inwood / Washington Heights in northern Manhattan for 19 years before moving to Stony Point, NY.

He worked as a handyman at Rachel Bridge Corporation in Washington Heights for 36 years. His coworkers there became his family. Eddy loved to spend his free moments playing dominoes, sharing meals and talking about anything and everything with his friends.

A devoted family man, Eddy dedicated his life to making sure his loved ones were always taken care of and content. To all those he met, he radiated humility, sincerity and warmth. In his early years, he enjoyed going to the rivers and beaches of his country, playing baseball / softball, dancing with his wife, and going on hikes with his children. He loved to dance and sing. Alberto Córtez was his favorite singer. He had a fondness for geography, learning about nature and world cultures. In his free time, he enjoyed tending to his garden, offering haircuts to his family, and sharing natural medicinal remedies with anyone who would listen. Most of all, Eddy only ever desired to be at peace: spending quality time with his loved ones over family meals and good music. His sense of humor, gentle nature and kindness will not be forgotten.

Eddy is survived by his wife, Irma Altagracia Bello, his children, Clara Frinette, Ariel Enmanuel, Alibel José, and Angel Manuel Bello, and his granddaughters, Salomé Guadalupe Bello, Mila Alessandra Bello, Sabrina Lily Bello, and Calía Rosario Pinney Bello.
