Obituary of Alexandra Reilly

Alexandra Theophanous Reilly of Eastchester, NY passed away at age 62 on Thursday, April 27, 2023.

She was born on January 13, 1961, daughter of Savvas and Georgia Theophanous.

Alexandra, a loving and devoted mother, is survived by her two children Anastasia and Philip. She was also a caring sister to Demetrious and Faith, who have passed as well. She is also survived by John, the father of her children.

Alexandra passed away after a four-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. One would never suspect she had cancer at all. Her vibrant personality and positive attitude propelled her to live her life to the fullest despite her disease. Anyone who knew Alexandra understood how much she valued getting the most out of life.

Alexandra was born and raised in Queens, New York. She completed her undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Queens College and furthered her education by obtaining a master’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the Polytechnic University of New York. Alexandra was very passionate about her career and truly loved her work. She worked as a software engineer for over 40 years, most recently working at IBM on their speech-to-text technology.

Alexandra maintained countless friendships and relationships throughout her life. She was an avid book club enthusiast, bridge player, and ballroom dancer. She was a valued parishioner at the Greek Orthodox Church, where she was part of the Philoptochos and Greek dance troupe. She had a large social calendar and always made time for friends.
