A very few years back, sitting on Jacqui's sofa, John and I volunteered to go to the gallery in Chelsea where we had been exhibiting, to fill the nail holes and make repairs to the walls on a Sunday. Leave it as we found it. We looked at each other, seated side by side and agreed to meet and do it together. His look was sweet and friendly and full of enthusiasm. We often sat side by side at the Federation meetings and I always looked forward to the seat on the sofa between John and Vincent Pinto.
The Covid interruption taught me to miss him. I hoped we would return to meetings in person and I would see him again. That was not to be. But I feel his spirit of enthusiasm even now for our communal project of artists, painters and sculptors, to continue to show work in New York, no matter the art world passing notions of style and privilege. Thank you John.
