Obituary of Olga Malides

Olga Malides was born December 14th, 1927 in Long Island City, NY and died on March 13th, 2023 in Delray Beach, Florida.  She celebrated her 95th birthday with her son Paul,  last December. 

Olga grew up in Brooklyn, NY with her three brothers,  Bill, George and Paul. She married her husband,  Steve in 1949 and had two sons George and Paul.  

Olga and husband moved to Delray Beach in 1985 and attended Saint Mark for services in the hall before the church was built.

Olga suffered the sudden loss of her husband in 1989 and her son George in 1993 due to a terminal illness.  She continued onward and was a volunteer at Saint Mark's newsletter 'the message ' and the church festival.  Olga was a 50 year member of the Ladies Philoptokos. 

Olga suffered declining health the last four years and recently moved to an assisted living memory care home.  After a short stay she was under hospice care and passed away with her son Paul at her bedside. 

Visitation will be at St. Paul Greek Orthodox Cathedral 110 Cathedral Ave, Hempstead, NY 11550 on Monday March 20th,2023 from 9 am - 9:30am.  

Funeral mass will be at St. Paul Greek Orthodox Cathedral 110 Cathedral Ave, Hempstead, NY 11550 on Monday March 20th, 2023 from 9:30 am - 10:30 am.

Burial will be at Cemetery of the Holy Rood  111 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY 11590 on Monday March 20th, 2023 from 11:45 am.
