Obituary of Arsenio Benitez

Arsenio Benitez passed peacefully in his home on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the age of 83. He was surrounded by his loving daughters: Michelle, Alexa & Barbara, and his life partner Elena. He was the proud grandfather of Mikaela & Peter. Arsenio was born in Jatibonico, Cuba on August 30, 1936. He came to the United States at the age of 24 and lived happily in New York City ever since. Arsenio was a fixture in his neighborhood. He was an elegant and hard-working man, who loved to sing, dance, eat dessert and spend time with his friends and family. He will be missed dearly. The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 5-9 PM at the Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway at the corner of 214th St. Final resting place will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, on the corner of Jackson Avenue and Saw Mill River Road in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Arsenio Benitez’s honor to the Cancer or Alzheimer’s charity of their choice.
