Obituary of Stella Corines

Stella Pandeloras Corines (Yiayia or Aunt Stella), 97, died September 28, 2022, in Yonkers, New York. Stella is survived by her daughters Barbara (Owen) and Karen, and four grandchildren Michael (Elizabeth), Katherine (Owen), Brooke, and Maxwell. Stella is predeceased by her husband Michael, sister Evelyn, brother in law Peter, and granddaughter Alexis.

Stella was born in Burlington, NJ, where she lived for most of her childhood before her family moved to New York City. It was here she met the love of her life, Michael Corines. Stella and Michael wed and had two daughters. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an active member of her parish, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Shrine Church in Flushing, NY. Stella had a storied career at Bloomingdale’s, where she worked for 25 years. She was known for her delicious baklava and kourabiedes.

A visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on 10 Mill Road in New Rochelle, NY on Friday at 10:30am followed by a service at 11:30am. It will be followed by a burial service.
