It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of Crusita Beato on Friday July 8th, 2022 at 11:24pm. Crusita was 84 years old. She was born in the Dominican Republic on May 3rd, 1938 to the late Casilda and Francisco.  Beloved mother, the best grandmother, sweetest great grandmother, adored sister and friend to many.

Crusita grew up in the Dominican Republic where she spent part of her early adult years. Crusita leaves behind three sisters, one brother and will now join her older sister in heaven. Crusita moved from her hometown in the Dominican Republic in the early 80s to start a new life in New York City. She lived on 137th Street in Harlem for over three decades and she enjoyed her community very much. Crusita worked as a clothing presser for many years in Mid-Town NYC. Her commute to work was filled with NYC 80s, & 90s culture. She took the 1 train to work each day and would always stop at her local bodega for fresh vegetable/food to prepare dinner. Crusita was known for her cooking skills, every Saturday she and one of her sister would open their home for family gatherings. She made the best rice and beans.

Crusita spent a lot of her quality time with her granddaughters Betty & Yeimis Aquino. She instilled family values which her granddaughters today appreciate. Every summer Crusita devoted her annual vacation to taking her granddaughters back to her hometown of the Dominican Republic. During this time she was able to introduce her grandkids to her Dominican culture that was filled with traveling the Island, exploring traditional island foods and more importantly visiting extended family. Crusita was also blessed to be a great grandmother which she cherished. She loved her great grand babies Lisbeth Aquino, Mila Clark, Madison Reid and Alexander Reid. There was nothing more joyful to Crusita than spending time with her grand and great grand kids.

Crusita had a green thumb she loved plants. She loved music and loved to dance; her favorite was merengue and bachata music. She had moves that were killers on the dance floor.  Her presence will be missed tremendously but her soul will live on.

Her family will present Crusita Beato as follows:
