Obituary of William Fleming

William Fleming died peacefully on May 25, 2022, due to complications of bladder cancer. He was 83 years old. William Fleming was born in 1939, in New Jersey, and raised in Inwood. He attended Manhattan Preparatory High School, and completed some college studies. Bill worked for IBM in human resources. He enjoyed theater, film, book reviews, and he read The Post every day. He also followed and play many sports, including basketball and running until his knees gave out. In his later years, Bill enjoyed swimming. William also volunteered at Calvary Hospital.

Beloved husband of Karen Pesce. His wife woulld like to express her enormous gratitude for all the support, both past and recent, for both Bill and her. Our community has risen to the occasion of their need, and she and Bill both were and are so, so grateful. William is also survived by three beloved step-children and many grandchildren: Julia Greenan Pesce and daughter Ashley, Chris and Eileen Pesce and their children Olivia and Nick, Matt and Nicole Pesce and their children Quinn, Kai and Celeste.  Visitation will be at Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway, New York, NY 10034, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 3pm to 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Good Shepherd RC Church, 4967 Broadway, New York, NY 10034 on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 10am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Good Shepherhed RC Church, 4967 Broadway, New York, NY 10034.
