Jim Nolan, affectionately known as Jimmy, was the Chief Administrator for Little League's District 23 for almost 20 years.
In this capacity he oversaw a dozen Little Leagues in Manhattan and the Bronx.
Jim's devotion and dedication to Little League was unparalleled.
One of his greatest responsibilities was organizing the summer tournament season, where Baseball and Girls Softball teams from most of his Leagues competed for the District Championship in multiple age groups. A highlight of every Little League season, Jim not only organized the tournaments but served as tournament director, attending games at different fields practically every day of the week in late June and July.
It was a monumental task, but one that seemed to give him great pleasure as well.
Gruff but kind, old school and baseball smart, Jim was a truly unique person who I was honored to work with and know.
Rest in Peace, dear Jimmy. You were much appreciated in your lifetime and I, for one, will never forget you.
