Being your only namesake was a privilege. I know how much tradition meant to you, so I am honored to carry on your name. Whenever I speak to my mother or niece (both named Evdoxia after your mother), I will always think of the relationship you had with your mother, and cherish every moment I have with them. Watching my mother and father care for you over these past eight years truly taught me something about the relationship between father and daughter, as well as the importance of partnership in a marriage. I pray that one day I have a daughter as dedicated to me as she was to you. In your honor, we have decided to go ahead and release one balloon for each year of your wonderful life, and doves to symbolize the release of your spirit into heaven. May you rest in peace.

Ένα βράδυ ονειρεύτηκα ένα όνειρο.
Καθώς περπατούσα κατά μήκος της παραλίας με τον Κύριό μου.
Στον σκοτεινό ουρανό έλαμψαν σκηνές από τη ζωή μου.
Για κάθε σκηνή, παρατήρησα δύο σετ αποτυπωμάτων στην άμμο,
Ένα που ανήκει σε μένα και ένα στον Κύριό μου.
Αφού άστραψε μπροστά μου η τελευταία σκηνή της ζωής μου,
Κοίταξα πίσω στα ίχνη στην άμμο.
Παρατήρησα ότι πολλές φορές στην πορεία της ζωής μου,
ειδικά στις πιο χαμηλές και θλιβερές στιγμές,
υπήρχε μόνο ένα σύνολο πατημασιών.
Αυτό με προβλημάτισε πραγματικά, γι' αυτό ρώτησα τον Κύριο.
«Κύριε, είπες όταν αποφάσισα να σε ακολουθήσω,
Θα περπατούσες μαζί μου σε όλη τη διαδρομή.
Αλλά παρατήρησα ότι στις πιο θλιβερές και ενοχλητικές στιγμές της ζωής μου,
υπήρχε μόνο ένα σύνολο πατημασιών.
Δεν καταλαβαίνω γιατί, όταν σε χρειαζόμουν περισσότερο, θα με άφηνες».
Ψιθύρισε: «Πολύτιμο παιδί μου, σε αγαπώ και δεν θα σε αφήσω ποτέ
Ποτέ, ποτέ, κατά τη διάρκεια των δοκιμών και των δοκιμών σας.
Όταν είδες μόνο ένα σύνολο πατημασιών,
Τότε ήταν που σε κουβαλούσα».

To my beloved Father, Words will never express the loss I feel. I will never forget all that you have accomplished in your lifetime. You lost your family at a very young age. You grew up in an orphanage who taught you the ways of life. All through this God protected you nd gave all that life has to offer. He gave you a loving wife, you raised three great kids, he gave you grand children, great grandchildren...you worked very hard in your life and accomplished all you had all on your own. You came to this country with nothing but the clothes on your back. God blessed your with everything good in life. I remember when you took us to church every Sunday, You put my sister on your neck holding her up and me on your side...you proudly walked us to church while mom stayed home to cook a meal when we got back. I remember the horse and buggy rides after the Greek parade thru Central Park. You were an amazing and loving person. You worked in the church and devoted so much of your time. I Love you and Thank You for all that you have taught me. How to to be strong and loving. Now it is time for you to reunite with the family you missed in this lifetime and pray for the rest of us.
