Obituary of Nicholas Vito Di Renzo

Nicholas V. DiRenzo of Washington Heights entered into rest on Wednesday May 2, 2012 at NY Presbyterian Hospital with his loving family at his side. Mr. DiRenzo was born on June 27, 1931 in New York City to Angelo and Concetta Di Renzo where he was raised and graduated from local schools. Nick married the love of his life Margaret Pourakis on June 28, 1953 in NYC where they have made thier home for the last 58yrs. He served in the United States Army in Korea from 1954 - 1956. Nicholas worked in freight transportation for over 30 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 yrs. Margaret; his 2 loving children,a daughter Debbie and her husband Julio Velez of Montrose, a son Nicholas JR.of NYC, his cherished grandson Nicholas, his dear brother Anthony and his wife Carmen DiRenzo of New Jersey, a sister in law Mary Pourakis of Carmel, NY. and many nieces and nephews. The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 2-5 & 7-9PM here at the RIVERDALE FUNERAL HOME, 5044 Broadway,@ 214th street, New York, NY 10034. Mr. DiRenzos funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 5, 2012 @ 10:00AM at The Good Shepherd RC Church on the Corner of Broadway and Isham Street in the Inwood section of NY. The Interment will take place immediately following the funeral mass in the family plot at St. Raymonds Cemetery on Balcolm Avenue in the Bronx.
