Barbara Ann O’Keefe

November 5, 1945  -  October 3, 2021

 

Barbara Ann O’Keefe (née Kelly), 75, of New York City, passed away suddenly on October 3, 2021, at her home following a seven year battle with stage four cancer.  She was the daughter of Martin and Catherine, wife of Sean for 53 years, and loving mother of Kelly and Danny and his wife Gwen, grandmother of Matthew, Abigail and Samuel.

 

Barbara spent many years of service to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, specializing in early childhood education.  These years were spent at the Holy Name of Jesus and Good Shepherd Schools, both in Manhattan.  She touched and helped form the lives of countless students.  Additionally, many girls would remember her with her many years serving the Girl Scouts of America.

 

As per her request, she will have a private family service.  Her cremains will be interred at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
