I knew Yeoryia as Georgia from my early childhood days. Our house was three houses down from theirs in Mishawaka, Ind. It was a very ethnic neighborhood, with mostly Belgians and Italians making up that population.
So the Megremis family was the only Greek family that we knew. And they weren't just our neighbors, they were our friends. Georgia was often the babysitter for me and my younger siblings. Growing up there and then has given me many fond memories of that time and place. ...
