Obituary of Juan Ramos

Juan Ramos, 87 of New York, NY passed away on August 26, 2021.

Juan was born on June 16, 1934, in Fajardo, P.R.  He came to New York at the age of 15.

Juan had a strong work ethic and held two jobs most of his life.  He worked at Columbia University as a custodian, was a doorman in the Upper West Side, and retired from the Dept. of Sanitation.

Juan was a registered amateur boxer at the age of 19, loved to play the guitar, and a die-hard Mets fan.

Juan was predeceased by his parents, Juan and Petra, brothers Modesto, Ambrosio, Francisco, sisters Aida and Catalina and his two sons, Willie, and John.

Juan is survived by his wife of 40 years, Isabel, daughters, Margarita (Emilino), Loida (Sandrino). Lillian, Elizabeth (Jorge), Hilda, Julio, Desiree (Joseph), Iris (Eric), Ashley, his sister Amparo, grandkids, great grandkids, nephews, and nieces.

Juan was laid to rest on September 2, 2021, at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY.

Viewing will be held at Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway, New York, NY 10034 on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 3PM - 8PM.  

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Good Shepherd RC Church, 4967 Broadway, NY NY 10034 at 10am.

Interment to follow at Saint Raymonds Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Ave, Bronx, NY  10465 at 11:30am.
