Obituary of Theodora Soropoulos

Theodora (Doris) Psilos Soropoulos, 86, passed away on May 28, 2018 after a seven year battle with lymphoma. She was born on December 7, 1931 in Bronx, NY, the youngest of four children, to Angeliki and Efstathios Psilos. She married George Soropoulos in 1955. They were married 56 years and raised their three children in Pelham Manor, NY where she was a realtor for Century 21 Maloney Realty. She had a love of art and enjoyed painting. She adored her church family and frequented many Greek Orthodox parishes in the metropolitan area.
She is predeceased by her husband George, son Steven Soropoulos, and siblings Betty (Thomas) Frangos, Helen (Bernard) Osmanski, and Alexander Psilos. She is survived by her daughter Francine (Steven) Kyriakos, New Canaan, CT, and son James (Amanda) Soropoulos, Mamaroneck, NY. Doris’s pride and joy were her nine grandchildren, Steven, Sarah, Nicholas, Anjelique, Elena, Kerry, Jamie, Sophia and Christian, her great granddaughter Ellie, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday, June 5th from 10:00- 11:00 AM, at Zoodohos Peghe Greek Orthodox Church, 3573 Bruckner Blvd, Bronx, NY. with the funeral service immediately following. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Saint Michael’s Greek Orthodox Home (3 Lehman Terrace, Yonkers, NY 10705).
