Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Wednesday February 3rd, 2021 James "Bass Master" Gray gained his wings. James was born on June 13th, 1951 to the late Robert & Virtree Gray. He grew up on the south side of Jamaica Queens, NY where he attended Woodrow Wilson High School, this was also where he met and married his high school sweetheart Mrs. Carol Gray. They have been married for 47 years and out of this union they had one daughter Mrs. Tanya Douglas. During his high school years James studied science and electronics, he was also a lover of music and played a host of different instruments such as the Bass guitar, drums and saxophone. James was in a band that would practice in his mother's basement. He also enjoyed swimming and playing tennis. James was a gifted artist he could draw anything just by looking at it. James worked many different jobs to provide for his family. Years later, James found his career job working for Human Resources where he retired after working for more than 30 years. He also had a passion for fishing, he started out fishing in saltwater only to find his love for freshwater fishing with the dream of competing in a National Tournament to win a boat. He dedicated so much time to freshwater fishing that he earned the name Bass Master. James knew every technique there was and what tools to use to catch the best and largest Bass fish. His favorite pastime was talking about fishing and his family, especially his grandchildren whom he shared his love of fishing with. We cannot forget his second favorite sport and TV show WWE wrestling and Monday Night Raw that he would watch with his favorite dog Saki. James was a very laid back and humble man. He was very kindhearted and would help anyone that was in need including teaching them how to fish along with sharing life's lessons. He was the best husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be deeply missed. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Carol Gray, Daughter Tanya Douglas, Son-in law Christopher Douglas, Grand Children, Quameik, Jahniiya, Jahnoiye, King and Prince; 2 Sisters, Shirley Gray and Dorothy Lomax, 2 sisters in laws, Annie Walker and Lisa Hodges, 2 brothers in laws, Robert Cooper and Lafayette Walker, 3 god brothers Michael and Douglas Wilson and Robbie Johnson.
