Obituary of Clarence Thompkins Jr

Clarence "Uncle Buddy" Thompkins Jr, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother, went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2020. He was 82 years old. Born August 11, 1937 in Harlem, NY, he was the son of the late Clarence Thompkins Sr, and Kathleen Bellamy. He served in the US Army, as an Infantry Parachutist with the 2nd Airborne Battalion, 504th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC from 1961 to 1963. He later served with the Army National Guard in New York. Clarence Thompkins worked as a Florist and for the US Postal Service, before becoming a train operator for the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), from which he retired. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, eight children, ten grandchildren and five siblings.
