Constance (nee Smirles) Lambran passed away at her Saddle River home on Wednesday, November 7th after complications from a stroke. Her beloved husband of 66 years, Louis Lambran, predeceased her on December 25th, 2011. She was born to George and Tula Smirles who immigrated to the United States from Sparta Greece. The oldest of six children, Constance was born on March 13th, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY. Constance is survived by her two loving sisters; Helen Deligeorge and Stella Valsamedies, both of Brooklyn. She was a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her many cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Constance, along with her husband and her brother, Gus Smirles, (1994) owned and operated the Suburban Diner on Route 17 in Paramus until their retirement in 1992. She and Louis loved to travel and to entertain, and they also were generous contributors to various charities. She was a cherished member and benefactor of St. Athanasios Church in Paramus. She had a special place in her heart for the members of the Saddle River Police and EMT’s, who always treated her with such respect and compassion she was very grateful that they were always there when she needed them. Her Family will be present to receive friends on Monday November 12, 2012 at St Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church 51 Paramus Road Paramus, New Jersey from 6-9PM. Funeral Service Tuesday Morning November 13 at the church 11:30AM. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery Brooklyn, New York.
