Please share a memory of Sanford to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sanford Ozzie Moldovan was born May 6, 1947 at Beth Israel Hospital in New York, New York. Born to Joseph and Leah Moldovan, Sanford grew up in the Inwood section of Manhattan with his brother Paul Moldovan and sister Eileen Starkman. It was in Manhattan where he met, married and loved his wife Katherine Jane for 40 years. Sanford and Katherine raised five children, Jessica Moldovan, Shana Garcia, Barry Moldovan, Edna Benitez and Perry Benitez. Sanford was a veteran of the Vietnam War and loved his country. He was also a truck driver and an ambulette driver for people with special needs. He loved his family and was a huge animal lover. No matter how little his family had, he always gave. He would make sure if he gave his children money to go roller skating he would pay for their friends to go too! He took many in as his own and loved unconditionally. He was funny and a great listener. He was a tough guy but he was caring and supportive. Upon Katherine’s passing in 2013, Sanford dedicated his time to his children, his furry kids - his dog Buddy Moldovan and his cat Flash Moldovan and hanging with his best friend Jose Quinones. He loved watching cooking shows, collecting rocks and stones and spending time at his home in Yonkers, New York. Sanford was a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his father, his children, his siblings, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and furry kids. He will truly be missed!
