Pavle Javornik Obituary

Pavle Javornik

November 7, 1967 to May 19, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Pavle Javornik – beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Pavle left us peacefully on May 19, 2026. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Pavle was born on November 7, 1967, in the town of Bač, Serbia to his parents, Pavle and Zuzana Javornik. As a young man, he proudly served in the military of the Republic of Yugoslavia. At the age of 21, he took on the role of family patriarch following the passing of his father. He shouldered this burden and was fondly remembered as a beacon of strength, courage, and love for all who depended on him. Shortly thereafter, he married the love of his life, Diana, and welcomed their first child together.

In 1996, he immigrated to the United States with his wife and two children, Ivana and Pavel, during uncertain times, seeking a better life for his family and to support those back home. The family settled in New York City, where he built a lasting foundation for their success and well-being. Pavle was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work and never wavered from his responsibilities. Those who knew him remembered him as someone who faced challenges head-on, devising creative solutions to any problem and constantly pushing the boundaries of his own imagination.

Pavle will be remembered as a man who made room for everyone at his table, no matter who they were – no one ever left his house hungry or worse for wear. His passion for curing meats, fermenting vegetables, and distilling spirits was a cornerstone of his life, and his generosity was a natural extension of his love for his fellow man. He was also an avid outdoorsman who never missed a chance to go fishing, and a gardener with a sincere connection to nature. But above all else, he cherished time with his grandchildren, whom he adored beyond words. His greatest joy came from his ever-growing family.

Pavle is survived by his mother, Zuzana Javornik, and sister, Zuzana Durciansky. He is survived by his wife, Diana Javornik; his daughter, Ivana Vanev; his son, Pavel Javornik; his son-in-law, Stole Vanev; his daughter-in-law, Orian Painter; his grandchildren, Darian Vanev, Mia Vanev; and grandson on-the-way, Emil Javornik – who will carry on the family name.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway, New York, NY 10034.

Pavle’s final resting location will be in his beloved hometown of Selenča.

Forever loved and never forgotten, may he rest in eternal peace.

Od nás všetkých, ktorí sme ťa milovali, odpočívaj v pokoji!
