Joseph A. Bruno Obituary
Remembrance of Joseph Anthony Bruno
June 11, 1937 - May 19, 2026
One month shy of his 89th birthday, Joey passed on to his next & final journey to eternal peace.
Joey was a strong & determined man, who had the perseverance to fight for what he believed in up to the end.
He was the son of John and Laura, and brother of Johnny, also known as “Junior”. Loving father to Lorraine Kerr along with grandpa to Kenneth, Kerri, Karalyn, and Kevin. Better known as the “Special K’s… “
He grew up with many Aunts & Uncles along with way too many first cousins. He was known to us all as “Cousin Whitey.”
He was Born and raised in Staten Island. He was well educated and his expertise was a counselor at Willowbrook. He had a love of Italian musicians played the accordion with perfection. His love of travel and the arts kept Joey entertained with his wide range of loyal friendships.
Over the years, we shared both our humorous & sad memories that he would tell. His most favorite was the “Cat of nine tails”. He enjoyed the fact that at his young age, he opened the window on the second floor and tossed it directs onto the roof of the passing garbage truck… another favorite was how his younger brother, Junior, threw a whole bowl of Pastina into our Aunt Josies radiator… I guess you could say my Aunt Laura had her hands full, at the very least.
His stories about his trailer out west, to his last big trip to Italy was his favorite subjects. You could say that up to just a few years ago. He was quite the traveler and let no grass grow under his feet.
Rest in Heavenly Peace Dearest Cousin…
