It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Marie Josephine Iozzo, 97, of Stamford, CT, beloved wife of Dominick Iozzo and loving mother of Donna Marie Iozzo of Old Greenwich, CT.  Marie and Dom enjoyed 71 beautiful years together.

Born in the Bronx, NY to Louis and Olympia Zegarelli, Marie was the oldest of two children.  After graduating from Walton High School, she worked as a secretary at Columbia University.  She then worked for Combustion Engineering and Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) as an executive assistant.  After retiring, she continued to work part-time for ABB for several years.

Besides her love of family and strong faith, she enjoyed spending time at the beach and pool, playing cards and games with family and friends, listening to Frank Sinatra, and watching her little Jeter play for the Yankees.  She was a kind and gentle soul that brought joy to everyone around her.

She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews whom she loved dearly, and so many good friends.  She is predeceased by her husband Dominick Iozzo, her brother Frank Zegarelli and his wife Mary Zegarelli, her brother-in-law Joseph Iozzo and his wife Virginia (Ginny) Iozzo, her sister-in-law Angelina Taddeo and her husband Michael Taddeo, her sister-in-law Philomenia (Fay) Aulicino and her husband Michael (Rudy) Aulicino.  Everyone who knew her was truly blessed and she will be deeply missed by all.
