Luis Angelo Mata entered into rest on January 31, 2026.

Visitation will be at Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway N.Y., N.Y. 10034. on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 4pm to 8pm.

Funeral Mass will be at Annunciation Church, 88 Convent Ave. N.Y., N.Y. 10027 on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 10:15am.

Burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery, 2 Saw Mill River Drive, Yonkers, N.Y. 10701.                                                                                           

     "Luis Angelo Mata was born in Cayetano Germosen, The Dominican Republic to Miriam Hernandez and Luis Maria Mata on 01/29/1972. He attended J.K.F High school and graduated in 1990. He worked for CulinArt at the United Nations for 31 years. He enjoyed playing football, baseball, bodybuilding and playing dominos. He received lasting recognition and immense praise for his unimaginable athletic talent and was known for his humbleness and kindhearted personality .

Angelo is survived by his wife Yanilda Mata, his children Luis Mata, Brian Mata, Yandel Mata, Eva Mata, and Joel Mata, and granddaughter Leila Mata, all from New York. He is preceded in death by his father, Luis Maria Mata.
