Altagracia Diaz Obituary
Born in the Dominican Republic, and emigrating to New York in 1968, Altagracia Diaz was a loving mother to Lorena and Aldemar, stepmother to Pablo Manuel, mother- in-law to Julio Cesar and Norma and grandmother to Melissa and Julio Cesar Jr. She was a loving wife to Manuel Diaz for 37 years until his passing in 2009.
Altagracia was also a dedicated parishioner and leader at St. Rose of Lima Church for more than 5 decades, participating and leading many parish groups and ministries. She also worked as the parish secretary at St. Rose of Lima for over 30 years until her retirement, serving her parish community faithfully until her retirement.
In addition, she was an active community leader and tenant activist for many years, helping members of the community with housing and other essential needs. In short, her passion was to live a life of love and service to God and neighbor.

Nacida en la Republica Dominicana, Altagracia Díaz emigró a Nueva York en 1968. Fue esposa de Manuel Díaz hasta que el falleció en el 2009. También fue madre, madrastra, abuela y hermana.
Altagracia fue secretaria parroquial de Santa Rosa de Lima por más de 30 años, hasta su jubilación. Como feligrés, participó y fue líder en varios grupos y ministerios por más de cinco décadas. Además, fue una líder comunitaria durante muchos años. En resumen, su pasión fué amar y servir a Dios y al prójimo.

Visitation will be held at Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway, NY NY 10034, on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Rose of Lima RC Church, NY NY 10032, on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10am.
Interment will follow at Maple Grove Park Cemetery, 535 Hudson Street, Hackensack, NJ.
