It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Arnaldo Martínez Sr., lovingly known as Naldo, on September 5, 2025, at his home. He was 84 years old.
Arnaldo was born on January 15, 1941, in Boquerón, Puerto Rico, to the late Abraham Martínez Collado and Carmela Alvarado Rosado. From his earliest days, he carried with him a deep love for Puerto Rico, a love that never left his heart.
On May 30, 1964, he married the love of his life, Aida Luz Martínez, with whom he shared a lifetime of devotion, family, and joy. Together they raised their children, Arnaldo Martínez Jr. and Mayra Martínez-Roswall. He was also a proud father-in-law to Jeffrey S. Roswall, and a beloved grandfather to Ashlie C. Roswall and Ariel H. Roswall, who were the light of his life.
Arnaldo is also survived by his sister, Aida Martínez, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will remember him with love and admiration.
A man of generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness, Arnaldo was known for his hardworking spirit and his ability to bring joy to those around him. He loved swimming, long walks, days at the beach, and cheering for his beloved New York Yankees, never missing a chance to show his devotion as a lifelong fan. He also enjoyed playing the lotto and sharing moments of laughter with family and friends.
Above all, Arnaldo’s greatest pride was his family. His love, guidance, and presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
Services to honor Arnaldo’s life will be held at [Riverdale Funeral, Sept.15,2025 from 4 pm to 8 pm], where family and friends will gather to celebrate his memory and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
