In Loving Memory of Dennis A. Petratos
August 18, 19__ – August 11, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Dennis A. Petratos, who left us peacefully on August 11, 2025, just one week shy of his birthday. Born and raised in New York City, Dennis was the beloved son of Anthony and Vasiliki Petratos, both of whom predeceased him.
Dennis leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Denise, his cherished son Anthony, 26, and his devoted brother Marinos, all of whom stood by him through life’s many seasons. Their family bond was filled with love, loyalty, and shared memories that will live on forever.
Dennis was a man of strong passions and a generous heart. He had a lifelong love for Arabian horses, a deep connection to the sea, and a special appreciation for warm weather. In his later years, he found joy living in a quiet boating community in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where life moved to the rhythm of the waves.
Together, Dennis and Denise built a life full of adventure and resilience. No marriage is perfect, but theirs was filled with love, laughter, and shared purpose. They traveled to Greece, and many other places, always seeking new experiences and stories to bring home. Most importantly, they raised a wonderful son—one of Dennis’s proudest legacies.
Professionally, Dennis was known for his dedication, work ethic, and sharp mind. He carried himself with quiet confidence and always had time for those who needed him. Whether through his work, his friendships, or his role as a father and husband, Dennis made a lasting impact on those around him.
In his final years, Dennis faced the difficult journey of dementia with dignity and courage. While the illness was painful, it never erased the love, pride, and spirit that defined him. That love now lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Dennis will be remembered for his strength, his wit, his fierce love for family, and his deep roots in his Greek heritage. His presence was steady, his laugh unforgettable, and his memory will continue to guide and inspire those who knew and loved him.
He was—and will always be—deeply loved and forever missed.
